About

I am a backend-first engineer who grew into engineering leadership after spending the early part of my career deep in distributed systems, database internals, and cloud infrastructure. I have led teams ranging from four to forty engineers across three continents, always with a bias toward written communication, small PRs, and measurable outcomes.

My philosophy is simple: platforms exist to make product engineers faster. Everything else — observability, CI/CD, data pipelines, on-call runbooks — is in service of that goal. I am equally comfortable reviewing an architecture proposal, pairing on a thorny debugging session, or presenting a quarterly roadmap to the board.

Outside engineering I mentor early-career developers and contribute to open-source tooling around developer productivity and local development environments.
